This is a special dough to me as I was born in Idaho. Contact me and ask before you make changes, chances are I have tried them and can give you advice on whether or not I can recommend those substitutions. Remember all of my formulations come with troubleshooting and if you need to swap starches or soaps, realize it may turn out differently than if you used the required potato starches or syndets. I tried making single use soap and it worked quite well. I have used this formulation in all of these applications and more. I hope you will enjoy creating with it as well. I love the feel of this starch as it is used on the skin. I use potato starch and a combination of gentle shampoo ingredients to make an effective skin cleanser. 1 1/4 pounds mixed winter vegetables such as carrots, Brussels sprouts, rutabagas, turnips, onions, leeks or savoy. Then, brush the egg white on the potatoes with the help of a pastry brush. As I explored all the options available to me for creating a syndet dough for my soap sensitive family and friends I created this formulation. 1 1/2 pounds all-purpose potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks. Spread the starches evenly on the surface of each of the potato slices with the help of a pastry brush. Are you looking for a bubble dough or solid cleanser that is soap free? This recipe may just be for you.
